News and noteworthy from around the area:

• The Platypus Pub / The Brew Shop will be hosting a Ninkasi tasting on Wednesday Tuesday, December 7th from 4:00 – 6:30 (thanks Markus B).  They will be pouring Sleigh’r, Total Domination and Oatis from the bottles, and will also be sampling Imperiale off of draft.
• Boneyard is  helping Velvet raise money for The Tyler Eklund Fund by participating in an event associated with the 5th Annual Dirksen Derby.  All $2.00 Boneyard sales go directly to the fund.  event details
• Bend Brewing Co is now pouring Eclipse Black IPA, Scarlet Imperial Red, Axe Head Red, Sexi-Mexi and Ching Ching.  Great line up!!!  And while we’re on the subject of BBC, The New School did a great brewer profile piece on Tonya and Ian at BBC.
• And the Tonya Cornett popularity train keeps rolling … she and Curt Plants of GoodLife collaborated around the new Scotch Ale offering from GoodLife: Scottish Heart, and it was released last Wednesday.  I have yet to try it, but here is the published information from them:  “This caramelized, malt forward Scotch Ale is brewed in honor of St. Andrew and is a brave, collaborative effort of two brewers, Tonya Cornett of Bend Brewing Company & Curt Plants of GoodLife Brewing Company.”
• Finally, let’s not forget that 10 Barrel’s new brewery construction is still ongoing. Check out their Facebook pics for a couple of new updates and a grainy video of the epic Pray for Snow party.
