10 Barrel Brewing broke ground on Wednesday (August 10, 2011), for their new production facility, in a unique way. Rather than shovels or picks, 10 Barrel kicked off construction of their new 50 barrel brew house by cracking open a keg of Precursor (a northwest red ale due out in the fall) with a sledge hammer. With over a 100% growth in the last year, 10 Barrel’s new facility should enable them to keep up with increasing demand and maybe Tonya, Jimmy and Dan will have a little extra room to play with some experimental brews. The new facility should go on-line around January 1, 2012 and will be located off off Empire Avenue, just down the road from their existing facility.
