Deschutes Brewery will be hosting a special release party for the 2011 edition of their famous Imperial Stout, The Abyss, at the downtown pub, beginning at 5:00. Also available for the event will be a limited amount of vertical flights including the 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 editions.
Deschutes’ release events are a lot of fun, but the one they host for The Abyss is a special breed. It gets packed quickly, so I’d plan on finding your spot early if you plan to attend. The year over year growing general awareness of this beer, combined with the increase in publicity that I have personally encountered for this particular Abyss release has me thinking this is going to be a well-attended event.
In addition to having plenty of beer to pour, Deschutes Executive Chef, Matt Neltner created a special Abyss menu for the event using the 2011 release (details below).
