#11! Wow, Bend somehow has to have more breweries per capita than anywhere else in the nation. It’s crazy or maybe I’m just crazy. Here’s everything worth knowing right now. Check out the Below Grade Brewing website (nothing there yet) for more info and updates. I’ve got more work to do and will add them to the site post-haste.
Old Mill Brew Werks, is the newest brewery to be opening in Bend (right after Noble Brewing). Opening as a restaurant only at first, tentatively around October 1st in the space formally occupied by the Phoenix Cafe in the Old Mill District. They’ll open at 8am and will offer breakfast, something that’s under-represented in the Old Mill. Brewing should start (once they find and procure a facility) with beers available after the first of the year.
Bring it on! Yet another brewery is slated to open within the next few months, Noble Brewing Company, bringing us to 9 regional breweries.
The Little Woody, Bend’s barrel-aged beer festival, released a list of the beers that they will be showcasing at the event. Check out the official site for more details, below is a quick listing of what you can expect. Mmm, enjoy.
Deschutes had quite a showing at the World Beer Awards 2010. Not only did Deschutes get the title of Worlds Best Standard IPA for the Red Chair NWPA the list goes on, and on. Congrats to Deschutes for kicking some major butt this year!
Despite what the newspapers are reporting Deschutes Brewery supports home brewers. Somehow it makes sense that the OLCC would throw gas on their fire and resurrect the negative PR after the Jason Evers incident.
